PCIDump Service Defaults in Windows XP

Default Behavior

PCIDump is a kernel device driver. In Windows XP it is starting right at Kernel initialization. If the PCIDump fails to load or initialize, Windows XP start up proceeds without error messages, but information about the failure is being written into Event Log.

Restore Default Startup Configuration for PCIDump

1. Select your Windows XP edition and service pack, and then click Download.

2. Save the WinXP_PCIDump_Service_Startup.cmd file to a local storage device.

3. Run the saved file.

4. Restart the computer.
