Default Settings

Startup type:Boot
Display name:PartMgr
Service name:PartMgr
Service type:kernel
Error control:normal
Group:System Bus Extender
Registry key:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\PartMgr

Default Behavior

PartMgr is a kernel device driver. In Windows XP it is starting before Kernel initialization. If the PartMgr fails to start, the technical information about the error is added to the Event Log. Windows XP startup should proceed, but a message box should be displayed informing the user that the PartMgr service has failed to start.

1. Select your Windows XP edition and service pack, and then click Download.

2. Save the WinXP_PartMgr_Service_Startup.cmd file to a local storage device.
