Default Behavior

Parport is a kernel device driver. In Windows XP it won't start until the current user starts it. If the Parport fails to load or initialize, Windows XP start up proceeds without error messages, but information about the failure is being written into Event Log.


The ParVdm depends on the Parport service.

Restore Default Startup Configuration for Parport

1. Select your Windows XP edition and service pack, and then click Download.

2. Save the WinXP_Parport_Service_Startup.cmd file to a local storage device.

3. Run the saved file.

4. Restart the computer.
