Dependencies

SMB MiniRedirector Wrapper and Engine can't start, if the Redirected Buffering Sub System service is disabled or not available.

All the services listed below will not start if SMB MiniRedirector Wrapper and Engine is disabled:

Restore Default Startup Configuration for SMB MiniRedirector Wrapper and Engine

Before you begin doing this, make sure that all the services on which SMB MiniRedirector Wrapper and Engine depends are configured by default and function properly. See the list of dependencies above.

1. Run the Command Prompt as an administrator.

2. Copy the command below, paste it into the command window and press ENTER:

sc config mrxsmb start= demand

3. Close the command window and restart the computer.

The mrxsmb service is using the mrxsmb.sys file that is located in the %WinDir%\system32\DRIVERS folder. If the file is corrupted or deleted, you can put it back in there.
