Security Driver (secdrv) Service Defaults in Windows 7

Default Settings

Startup type:Automatic
Display name:Security Driver
Service name:secdrv
Service type:kernel
Error control:normal
Registry key:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\secdrv

Default Behavior

Security Driver is a kernel device driver. In Windows 7 it is starting automatically on the operating system startup. If Security Driver fails to start, Windows 7 attempts to write the failure details into Event Log. Then Windows 7 startup should proceed and the user should be notified that the secdrv service is not running because of the error.

2. Save the Win7_secdrv_Service_Startup.cmd file to a local storage device.

3. Run the saved file as an administrator.
