Default Behavior

Microsoft .NET Framework NGEN v2.0.50727_X86 is a Win32 service. It won't be started if the user doesn't start it in Windows 7 Starter, Home Basic, Home Premium. This service is starting automatically after the operating system is started in Windows 7 Professional, Ultimate, Enterprise, Starter SP1, Home Basic SP1, Home Premium SP1, Professional SP1, Ultimate SP1, Enterprise SP1. When the Microsoft .NET Framework NGEN v2.0.50727_X86 service is started, it is running as LocalSystem in its own process of mscorsvw.exe. If Microsoft .NET Framework NGEN v2.0.50727_X86 fails to load or initialize, Windows 7 startup continues without error messages. The failure details are being written into Event Log.

Restore Default Startup Configuration for Microsoft .NET Framework NGEN v2.0.50727_X86

1. Select your Windows 7 edition and service pack, and then click Download.

2. Save the Win7_clroptimizationv205072732_Service_Startup.cmd file to a local storage device.

3. Run the saved file as an administrator.

4. Restart the computer.

The clr_optimization_v2.0.50727_32 service is using the mscorsvw.exe file that is located in the %WinDir%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727 folder. If the file is changed, damaged or deleted, you can restore its original version from Windows 7 installation media.
